December 3, 2024 Giving Tuesday: Honoring Our Veterans with Purpose and Action

Written By Randy Johnson, SVP Support Services & Sustainability

At Cordia, we deeply value the sacrifices our veterans have made in service to our country. This Giving Tuesday, we’re reflecting on our impactful Veterans Week, celebrated from November 4-8, as part of our ongoing commitment to giving back to those who have served. Through this initiative, we not only fostered a spirit of community within our organization but also contributed to causes that honor and support veterans.

Veterans Week at Cordia

Veterans Week was a dynamic and heartfelt effort, uniting employees across our offices through events focused on Physical Wellbeing, Mental Health, and volunteering. The week concluded with a celebratory event, and to make things even more engaging, we turned it into a fun competition!

  • Omaha Takes the Win: Our Omaha team triumphed, earning the honor of donating $2,500 to a charity of their choice.
  • San Francisco Runner-Up: The San Francisco team came in second, with $1,000 donated to Swords to Plowshares, a nonprofit dedicated to veteran support.

Corporate Giving That Makes a Difference

As part of our broader effort, Cordia pledged $5,000 to Tunnel to Towers, a remarkable organization supporting military families. We also rallied together to collect donations for Operation Dignity, a nonprofit tirelessly working since 1993 to assist homeless veterans.

Join Us in Making a Difference

Giving Tuesday is a reminder that generosity knows no bounds. Whether it’s through time, effort, or financial contributions, every act of kindness helps a veteran in need.

We invite you to join us in supporting these impactful organizations and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those who’ve sacrificed so much for our country.

Together, we can honor their service with the dignity and respect they deserve.
