Boyd Nelson, based in Las Vegas, Nevada, is a seasoned professional dedicated to delivering efficient, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions. With a strong background in corporate finance, organizational leadership, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and business management, Boyd has demonstrated his expertise across various roles in the energy sector.

Boyd currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Cordia, located in Phoenix, Arizona, where he oversees all financial functions of the company. His responsibilities include finance, accounting, audit, treasury services, budgeting, and financial planning. Additionally, Boyd directs the company’s growth strategy, including the execution of financing for expansion projects.

Prior to his role at Cordia, Boyd held key positions at Southwest Gas Corporation. As Vice President of Strategy and Investor Relations, he executed strategic growth initiatives and managed external communications with public investors. Earlier, as Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development, Boyd played a pivotal role in developing, communicating, and executing strategic growth initiatives. He also oversaw corporate development and supply chain functions, providing valuable insights to senior executives and the board of directors on growth opportunities, competitive landscape, business mix, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic matters.

Before his tenure at Southwest Gas Corporation, Boyd served as Co-head of U.S. Power & Utilities Investment Banking at Scotiabank in Greater New York City. In this role, he originated and executed investment banking transactions for U.S. power and utility clients, with a focus on cross-border opportunities between the U.S. and Canada, as well as U.S.-based transactions involving power generation and utility systems at both the corporate and asset levels.

Boyd’s career began with roles at New Harbor Incorporated, where he provided strategic and financial advisory services, including mergers and acquisitions, in the energy and utilities industries, and at Société Generale as an Analyst, specializing in mergers and acquisitions advisory in the North American power and natural gas utilities space.

Boyd Nelson graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. His top skills include mergers and acquisitions, financial modeling, and investment banking.
